Job Title: Shipwright

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified Shipwright to join our team in the Defence Division.

The successful candidate will have a strong safety mindset, hold a Nationally Accredited OHS Card, and a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in ship preparation and welding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Studying plans and specifications, and preparing templates and scale plans for fabrication and cutting of hull sections
  • Welding of centre bulkheads, frames and brackets at portside and starboard side
  • Welding of longitudinal central bulkheads and rope reels
  • Performing welding on carbon steel pipes, stainless steel plates, steam and high-pressurised pipes
  • Assembling shells of boats and erecting hull sections
  • May make hull moulds and fabricate and repair vessels using materials such as aluminium, wood, glass, reinforced plastics, carbon fibre, Kevlar, fibreglass and concrete

What We Offer:

Competitive salary range of $70,000 to $80,000 full-time rate annually, subject to experience, with overtime and penalties in accordance with relevant Award / Eptec's Enterprise Agreement.

Requirements:

  • Strong safety mindset
  • Nationally Accredited OHS Card (White/Blue Card)
  • Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience
  • Team player and safety-first attitude
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including D&A screen
