Waste and Resource Recovery Manager Opportunity

This is a 6-12 month temporary assignment with the possibility of extension. We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in South West Sydney.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and administering all contracts related to waste collection, disposal, and resource recovery across the Local Government Area (LGA).

  • Developing, procuring, managing, and monitoring waste and resource recovery contracts and service agreements across the LGA
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to achieve industry best practice knowledge and innovative thinking in contract management
  • Maintaining relationships with contractors, other councils, and government agencies to leverage objectives
  • Assisting operational areas in tendering, evaluating, and awarding contracts
  • Setting up and developing robust and active contract management with an innovative and collaborative approach

Key requirements include:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience
  • Extensive experience in contract management, administration, and process improvement in Resource Recovery or Environmental Sustainability
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate, manage, and monitor contracts providing excellent value for money and achieving social and environmental objectives
  • High level analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify trends and influence medium and long-term planning
