Job Description

SA Cardiovascular Research Lead and Grants Manager Role Summary

This is a key position in the SA CVRN, responsible for leading cardiovascular research initiatives and managing grants.

  • Committee and Secretariat Support: Provide operational and strategic support to the SA CVRN Executive and Rising Stars Sub-Committees.
  • Grant Management: Develop, promote, and administer Heart Foundation SA research grants for CVRN members through transparent processes.
  • Event Leadership: Lead the planning and execution of key events like the Annual Cardiovascular Showcase, Emerging Leaders Symposium, and capacity-building workshops for researchers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with CVRN members, research funding bodies, institutions, local health networks, and government agencies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications or relevant work experience in health and medical research or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the health and medical research landscape in SA and Australia, including funding schemes and networks.
  • Expertise in grant management and administration.
  • Experience in organizing research, capacity-building, and networking events.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and administrative skills.
