Job Title: Accountant

We are seeking a skilled and experienced accountant to join our finance team.

  • The successful candidate will provide support to our senior accountant with day-to-day accounting tasks.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, process transactions and support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including processing bank account transactions, monitor outstanding debtor balances and follow up on overdue accounts.
  2. Maintenance of fixed asset register.
  3. Manage and reconcile financial arrangements.
  4. Process various journals, including project, recovery and general ledger journals.
  5. Process AR and AP invoices as required.
  6. Assistance with the end-of-month process for finance systems.
  7. Assistance with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
  8. Assistance with balance sheet reconciliation.
  9. Assistance with intercompany accounting, recharges and balances.
  10. Assistance with consolidated financial reporting to the group.
  11. Liaise with internal departments as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Possession of a postgraduate degree in accounting or finance is essential.
  • Working towards CA/CPA qualification will be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated understanding of core accounting principles and compliance with Australian financial regulations.
  • Minimum of one year's experience working as an accountant.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong organisational abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
