Job Title

A leading role exists for a highly skilled professional to oversee the management of Clinical Biology laboratories, supporting various activities.

About the Job

You will report to the Senior Manager and be responsible for day-to-day laboratory operations, including equipment use, procurement, and inductions. You will provide expert technical advice and support to staff, supervise a team of technical officers, ensure compliance with standards, develop documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate laboratory operations, including equipment use and procurement.
  • Provide technical advice and support to academic and research staff.
  • Supervise a team of technical officers and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure compliance with OH&S standards and legislation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support planning and infrastructure improvements.
Requirements

The ideal candidate has a degree in Biological Sciences or a related field and at least 4 years of relevant experience. Supervisory or management experience is highly desirable.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in biological sciences and laboratory practices.
  • Ability to manage technical services and lead staff.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of OH&S compliance within laboratory settings.
