Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Coordinator to join our team. The Design Coordinator will play a vital part in managing consultants, supporting value engineering efforts, ensuring documentation is aligned with project scope, and driving clear communication across stakeholders.

About the Role
  • Assist with overall coordination of the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery
  • Coordinate the design process and ensure compliance with budget, programs, Approvals, Building Code of Australia (BCA) and other legislative requirements and clients' needs
  • Collaborate with consultants and stakeholders to ensure clear, accurate documentation that supports construction and buildability
  • Identify and manage design risks and opportunities with a strong commercial mindset
  • Ensure documentation aligns with budgets, timeframes, and quality targets
  • Support the estimating team in the preparation of scopes and detailed design proposals for D&C projects
  • Contribute to site visits, RFIs, and managing design changes, variations and approvals
  • Contribute to the effective control and administration of documentation from all parties (authorities, client, tenants, subcontractors etc.)
  • Support project teams through assisting with clarification of any project design and construction issues
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Building Design or similar, with proven experience working in a similar role within the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of the design management process and an understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards and WHS legislation
  • Possess good commercial and technical awareness
  • Have strong communication skills with an ability to build relationships at all levels of the business
  • Act decisively with an ability to problem solve
  • Be agile - we are a fast-moving business with changing priorities
  • Excellent communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
