Field Operations Specialist

As a core yard specialist, you will be responsible for the smooth operation of our sampling and fieldwork activities.

The ideal candidate will have strong operational skills, with experience in managing multiple tasks and priorities. You will be working closely with a small team to ensure that all aspects of our field operations are running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Processing diamond core and RC samples, including mark-up, orientation, photography, magnetic susceptibility, RQD, densities, recoveries, cutting and sampling
  • Collecting, washing and storing RC and diamond chips
  • Implementing QA/QC procedures and accurate data recording/reporting
  • Providing general field support, including basic maintenance and equipment operation

Additionally, you will be expected to maintain a high level of safety awareness, adhere to company standards and protocols, and work independently as well as part of a small team.

We are seeking a motivated and organized individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Experience:

6–12+ months' coreyard or field assistant experience (or very strong practical background)

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Current WA C-class manual driver's licence
  • High Risk Work Licence – forklift (loader/backhoe highly regarded)
  • Strong safety focus
  • Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
  • Full Australian work rights; Perth-based for FIFO

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Senior First Aid
  • SAP or sample-tracking systems experience
  • Goldfields experience
