About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Technology Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to join our team at Charles Sturt University. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering teaching excellence in areas including best practice in low stress animal handling, internal medicine, surgery, and anaesthesia, emergency and critical care, and support for the veterinary professional in clinical pathology and diagnostic techniques and imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver high-quality teaching programs in veterinary technology, including lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment materials, and evaluate student performance.
  • Engage in research and scholarly activities, including generating publications and participating in research collaborations.
  • Provide academic leadership and support to colleagues, and contribute to the development of the School's research profile.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, including veterinarians, veterinary clinics, and animal welfare organizations.
Requirements
  • A degree in Veterinary Science or a related field, plus relevant postgraduate or equivalent experience, accreditation, and standing, including eligibility for registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of NSW.
  • A record of research or professional activity relevant to the discipline area.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality student-centred learning and teaching.
  • Highly developed communication skills and the ability to build networks and partnerships within the veterinary industries to achieve outcomes.
  • For Senior Lecturer applicants, demonstrated ability to provide leadership within the discipline related to teaching and/or research or professional activity.
