Job Title: Executive Manager Governance Services

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill the position of Executive Manager Governance Services at the City of Mandurah. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and developing our Governance Services, Legal Services, and Information Management Services to ensure organisational transparency, accountability, and compliance with statutory obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of commercial services, including Procurement Services, Contracts Services, and Property Services, to improve commercial outcomes and ensure compliance with statutory requirements, City policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and implement governance and compliance systems to support continuous improvement of the City's services.
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the team, ensuring effective management of resources and assets to promote continuous service improvement, compliance, risk management, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee the achievement of annual financial objectives for the area and ensure the City's compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective relationships across the City, working to best practice standards and displaying a high degree of professionalism.
Requirements:
  • Degree relevant to the duties of this position, such as law, business management, or corporate governance.
  • 10 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of high-level advice and support in the fields of corporate governance, risk, procurement, and contracts.
  • Highly developed financial management skills for budget preparation and control.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation relating to governance, property, and local government.
  • Ability to lead and think strategically, develop and implement governance and compliance systems, and provide outstanding leadership and communication skills.
