Therapeutic Youth Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Therapeutic Youth Worker to join our organization. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support and mentorship to young people living in Intensive Therapeutic Care homes.

Our residents have experienced childhood trauma, abuse, or neglect and may have a mental health, physical, or psychosocial disability. To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strong advocate for the young people you support and have flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.

You will undertake various duties, including:

  • Building trusting relationships with residents
  • Meeting the daily needs of children and young people and working within legislative requirements and organizational initiatives
  • Providing care, supervision, and role modeling on a daily basis
  • Organizing activities that help residents connect with their family, community, and culture
  • Supporting residents to participate in school, vocational training, or employment
  • Effectively advocating the views of residents
  • Participating in team meetings, reflective practice, and supervision, debriefing, and support activities

To be eligible for this role, you will need to have a Diploma in Community Services or a related field, or current enrollment into a degree or diploma. You will also need to hold a current First Aid certificate and a valid driver's license.
