About our team:
We're looking for a compassionate and resilient individual to provide emotional and pastoral support to prisoners of all backgrounds and beliefs, as well as prison staff and their families.
This role requires significant experience in pastoral care, ideally in a justice context, with the ability to communicate effectively through conversations, Bible study and chapel services.
The successful candidate will be part of our Justice Chaplaincy team and work collaboratively with other chaplains from different denominations and faiths.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- In progress or completed theological qualification (Degree or Diploma course)
- Eligibility to hold a licence issued by the Anglican Archbishop of Sydney
- Ability to clearly communicate and teach the Bible
- Completed APC or CPE course (required within the first 12 months if not already completed)
- Proven experience in ministry and pastoral care
- Strong communication and relationship building skills
- Current Working with Children's Check
