Emerging genome-centric technology platforms are revolutionising the study of complex diseases.

A powerful tool for surveying proteomic complexity in tissues, unlocking insights into physiological and disease mechanisms is gaining recognition in health and disease research. This tool, matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-MSI), has increased knowledge in functional gene-to-protein expression patterns in healthy and disease contexts.

We seek a dedicated expert to plan and conduct proteomics experiments, driving forward the development and implementation of spatial proteomics pipelines within our team and the wider program.

This position reports to a Laboratory Head. The successful candidate will have opportunities for on-going training and development, work in a stimulating international environment, and enjoy flexible work arrangements.

Requirements include a PhD in proteomics, practical experience in sample preparation and analysis using mass spectrometry approaches, and demonstrated experience in data analysis, method development, and programming skills including Python and R.

Desirable skills include prior experience in spatial proteomics, writing scientific publications, and conventional imaging techniques.
