About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing staff within their team, inspiring a sense of purpose and direction. They will also collaborate with executive staff across the division and provide advice to the leadership team on stakeholder activities, operational issues, interests, and risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage staff within the team, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
  • Collaborate with executive staff to develop and implement business strategies that meet the needs of the division.
  • Provide advice and guidance to the leadership team on operational matters, ensuring that decisions are informed and evidence-based.
  • Maintain and analyse data to provide accurate information to senior executives, supporting informed decision-making.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Requirements
  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g. business, management, public administration).
  • Significant experience in a leadership or management role, preferably in a government agency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high degree of autonomy and initiative.
