Provider Compensation Specialist Role

The role of a Provider Compensation Specialist is to play a critical part in the healthcare industry by monitoring and analyzing provider compensation. This involves staying up-to-date with industry changes and ensuring that compensation arrangements are fair, reasonable, and compliant with regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the Provider Compensation Governance Committee for Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Ensure all physician call payments are made timely and accurately.
  • Update call template invoices yearly.
  • Work with the hospital on the Master Call Agreement.
  • Ensure all Medical Director payments are according to the contract.
  • Supervise physician compensation models, including the planning of acquisitions and service line development.
  • Aid in the development, monitoring, and production of automated calculations and reporting dashboards.
  • Participate in the annual analytical review of each employed provider's pay structure to deliver a fair market value (FMV) plan that also meets Commercial Reasonableness (CR) Testing requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum qualifications: AAPCP certification within 1 year or bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or a business-related field, 2 years of experience in the healthcare Finance/Accounting industry.
  • Preferred qualifications: Master's in finance, Accounting or a business-related field, 1 year of experience in provider compensation, MGMA ACMPE Upon Hire.
