Job Opportunity: Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive kitchen staff member to join our team in Sydney. The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, storage, and delivery to residents, ensuring high standards of food safety, hygiene, and service at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Head Chef and Cook with meal preparation and presentation
  • Receive and store food deliveries promptly, maintaining correct stock rotation and temperature control
  • Serve meals courteously, meeting all dietary requirements and delivering food safely and professionally
  • Maintain accurate food safety documentation in line with industry standards
  • Adhere to strict hand hygiene, uniform policy, and kitchen cleaning procedures to uphold WHS and infection control standards
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and report any issues or concerns
  • Support the security of kitchen facilities, equipment, and stock

Requirements for Success:

  • Prior experience working in aged care would be advantageous
  • Experience in a food handling role is preferred
  • Knowledge and understanding of food hygiene and food safety principles
  • Relevant certificate in Food Safety
