About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dental team, you will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to our dentists and patients.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Interaction: Greet patients warmly, assist with paperwork, and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Check-In and Check-Out: Manage the patient check-in process, verify insurance details, and update personal information in our system.
- Appointment Scheduling: Schedule and coordinate appointments for new and returning patients, considering treatment time and patient preferences.
- Patient Preparation and Comfort: Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort throughout treatments.
- Treatment Room Management: Set up and sanitise treatment rooms, clean and disinfect areas after procedures, and maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Radiographs and Laboratory Tasks: Take and develop dental X-rays, assist with basic laboratory tasks, and maintain accurate records.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, provide post-treatment care instructions, and address patient concerns.
- Billing and Insurance Processing: Prepare and process billing statements, verify insurance coverage, and assist patients with financial arrangements.
- Patient Records Management: Maintain accurate and organised patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- High school diploma
- Graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
- Additional certification or training is an asset
- Hand Hygiene Australia Certificate
- Casual employment to commence, with possibility of transitioning to full-time
- Above award rates depending on skill and experience
