About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join our team at Icon Cancer Centre Australia. As a Medical Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting our medical oncology team by providing administrative assistance and ensuring the smooth operation of our day hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to our medical oncology team, including answering phone calls, responding to emails, and managing patient records.
  • Process patient admissions, including checking private healthcare details and collecting excess and co-pays as required.
  • Collect and enter patient information, including personal details and referrals.
  • Ensure patient details are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Manage wait room functions and ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.
  • Organize theatre and hospital bookings in our CHARM and Totalcare systems.
  • Liaise with patient admission teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain and manage patient information, including medical records and test results.
Requirements
  • Experience working in a medical administration role, preferably in a cancer care setting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
