About the Role

We are seeking a Food Services Assistant to join our team at Alcheringa home in Swan Hill, Victoria. The successful candidate will work on a full-time, part-time, or casual basis.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of our Foodsafety Program. You will also be responsible for providing a diverse range of high-quality food and beverages that meet the unique needs and preferences of our residents.

The Organisation

What You Will Bring

  • A background in residential aged care or a similar environment.
  • Experience in hospitality or catering.
  • A relevant qualification, such as a Food Safety and Food Handling Certificate.
  • An ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • A current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire).
  • Flexibility for shift work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to menu planning to meet the resident's needs and preferences.
  • Prepare, serve, present, and deliver food and refreshments in accordance with our Foodsafety Program.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks in accordance with our Foodsafety Program.
  • Assist with the monitoring and recording requirements of our Foodsafety Program.
  • E nsure friendly and timely delivery of meals and refreshments to all residents.
  • Participate in the ongoing quality review of our Foodsafety Program.
  • Report any concerns/difficulties experienced with care recipients in relation to food and beverages to the Registered Nurse In Charge.
  • Any other task not defined but within your skills, as directed by the organisation.
