About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our vibrant and diverse community at Hopetoun Early Years Centre.


As a member of our professional team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering stimulating educational programs for children, ensuring each child's learning and development is assessed as part of an ongoing continuum of planning, documentation, and evaluation.


With your expertise in relational pedagogy and trauma-informed practice, you will work closely with our experienced Practice Coach, Teaching and Learning Mentor, and Social Worker to provide guidance and support for our early childhood educators and teachers.


This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of vulnerable communities, including children and families from refugee, asylum-seeker, and displaced backgrounds.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Development: Develop and deliver engaging educational programs that meet the National Quality Framework (NQF) and Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) standards.
  • Child Assessment: Ensure each child's learning and development is assessed as part of an ongoing continuum of planning, documentation, and evaluation.
  • Mentoring and Coaching: Provide feedback and mentoring to educator teams to ensure high-quality education and care for our youngest community members.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent degree qualification.
  • Current VIT registration.
  • Proven experience in kindergarten teaching and leadership.
  • Strong understanding of relational pedagogy and trauma-informed practices.
