Job Description

Australian luxury fashion pattern designer required to create patterns for seasonal collections from original drawings or our existing library of patterns.

Key responsibilities include performing pattern alterations and final production fittings, developing garment specification sheets with relevant information for production, including accessories, trim, yields, and maker instructions.

Finalising all patterns in line with production schedules is also a crucial task. Collaboration with sample machinists to achieve best quality make and most cost-effective method of garment construction is essential.

The ideal candidate will produce sample markers for cutting as required and consult with in-house makers and factories on ways to improve make techniques.

Preparation of sample and specification packs to produce PPS and Bulk is another key responsibility.

QC samples and following correct procedures to ensure production are informed clearly on any changes from SMS to PPS to Bulk is vital.Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10 years' industry experience in pattern making.
  • Strong eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Extensive understanding and knowledge of garment construction.
  • Computer literacy in Lectra, Gerber or Style CAD pattern making, or similar system.
  • Continually up-to-date knowledge of luxury garment finishes.
  • Computer literacy in Excel and Outlook and a knowledge of fashion production software such as AP21.
