Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Tax Professional to join our team as a Senior Tax Analyst.

About the Role

The Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for handling a wide range of tax matters and collaborating with stakeholders across the business. This role involves preparing tax calculations, ensuring timely lodgements and payments, carrying out reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, and resolving issues. The successful candidate will also assist with regulatory reviews and collaborate with the business on rate changes announced due to legislative changes or the Federal Budget process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare tax calculations for review by senior team members
  • Work with the tax team to ensure compliance with tax requirements, including timely lodgements and payments
  • Carry out reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues
  • Test tax controls in accordance with our risk management framework
  • Assist with regulatory reviews by the ATO or State Revenue authorities as relevant
  • Collaborate with the business on rate changes announced due to legislative changes or the Federal Budget process
Qualifications and Skills
  • Tertiary qualification in accounting or a related field
  • Experience in a similar role within financial services, advising on Australian tax matters
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Knowledge and experience of income tax as it applies to life insurance (preferred)
