Job Summary:
\The Welding Inspector will be responsible for verifying welders, equipment, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant workpacks, drawings, and weld maps. The role involves monitoring welding parameters, conducting visual inspections, and providing professional advice as required.
\About the Role:
\- Verify welders, weld equipment, weld consumables, and weld procedures are current and correct for task
- Monitor welding parameters and conduct visual inspections, prior to, during, and post welding
- Conduct visual testing of weld area preparation, welding, and on completed welds
- Advise of non-conformances as early as possible
- Complete daily progress reporting as required
- Ensure weld repair procedures are followed as required
- Provide professional advice as required, both written and verbal
- Demonstrate a willingness and capability to perform other duties as deemed appropriate and consistent with your professional qualifications, skill or experience
- Witness when required weld procedure qualification & welder qualification testing
Requirements:
\- Welding Inspector (WTIA Certified Welding Inspector, WTIA Certified Senior Welding Inspector, CSWIP Level 3.1 Welding Inspector, AWS Certified Welding Inspector, IIW International Welding Inspector – Standard IWI-S)
- Experience with Structural welding AWS D1.1 would help but not essential
- Strong technical skills and experience, preference for experience within offshore oil & gas industry
- Functional use of Microsoft Office applications
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
- Positive attitude with a focus on problem solving
- Ability to work harmoniously in close confines
