Job Description:

A Network Operations Engineer is responsible for ensuring the high availability and performance of our network. You will be part of a team that operates, maintains and assures our network to provide an unrivalled experience for our customers when connecting to their digital world.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and manage network events proactively to identify potential issues before they occur
Perform network and security incident management to resolve issues within Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets
Network Change Enablement duties to plan, communicate, execute and support network maintenance and upgrades
Problem Management duties to identify and treat problems both proactively and reactively
Request management duties to ensure any requests are actioned within set Operational Level Agreement (OLA) targets

Requirements:

Over 3 years' technical networking experience preferably within an ISP or large Enterprise
Willingness for self-directed learning
Good understanding of networking protocols such as IPv4 and IPv6, CG-NAT, MPLS, IPSEC, Segment Routing, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, EVPN, VRF, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS
Good active and passive network troubleshooting skills
Understanding of network design
Relevant vendor certifications such as Cisco CCNA, Juniper JCNA, Fortinet NSE, ITIL 4, Network Security certs
Experience with Cisco ASR9k routers, Cisco NCS routers, Juniper routers, EVPN, EIGRP, Fortinet firewalls, Fortinet CG-NAT and Corero DDoS Protection
Experience with network monitoring and ITSM systems and tools such as LogicMonitor
Experience with routing protocols such as OSPF/ISIS/MP-BGP
Experience with MPLS technologies such as LDP/SR/SR-TE/RSVP-TE
Experience with peering, transit & content management preferably within an ISP environment
Understanding of the NBN network including point of interconnects and various access technologies
