Support Worker Role

A typical day may involve:

  • Facilitating access to local community activities
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Assisting with daily living tasks such as personal care and medication administration
  • Supporting clients to develop new skills and interests
  • Accompanying clients to appointments and providing transportation
  • Working alongside medical professionals and allied health professionals to ensure positive outcomes

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III in individual care, aged care, community service and disability or equivalent experience
  • An NDIS Screening Check
  • A Working With Children's Check
  • Manual Handling Training Certificate
  • Medication Administration Training
  • First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
  • Access to a reliable and fully insured vehicle

You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
