About this Role

We are seeking a Senior Technical Expert to lead the commissioning of various renewable projects and drive technical collaboration with clients.

This role involves developing long-term relationships with key energy industry players, providing training and mentoring to junior team members, and contributing to industry forums and working groups, conferences, and memberships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the commissioning of various renewable projects through to full output operation, working closely with Transmission Network Service Providers (TNSPs) and Distribution Network Service Providers (DNSPs) across the National Electricity Market.
  • Carry out R2 model validation and drive the R2 close-out process.
  • Strengthen AEMO's technical collaboration with clients by ensuring that individual project issues are constructively resolved, focusing on tangible outcomes.
  • Provide expert technical advice and decision-making, utilising constructive and open problem-solving, across areas of performance standard assessment, power system stability, system strength remediation, registration, and commissioning.
  • Support regulatory changes to recognise and facilitate the integration of large-scale renewable energy projects into the Australian electricity market.
  • Develop a coordinated vision and framework for the integration of various generation and storage technologies into the NEM.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in leading technical teams and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge of power systems, including transmission and distribution networks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
