About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and define a dedicated Business Improvement function within a rapidly growing organisation.

The Business Improvement Manager will establish and evolve the business improvement capability, leading the development of business improvement strategies, creating a framework, and contributing to the successful delivery of key business improvement projects which deliver measurable efficiency gains and facilitate business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a tailored Business Improvement framework including strong governance principles
  • Generate sponsorship and successfully embed the Business Improvement framework
  • Enable the identification, analysis, and prioritisation of business improvement opportunities across the organisation using proven methodologies
  • Develop a roadmap aligned to business strategy and annual priorities with defined scope, deliverables, and ROI targets
  • Support and foster a culture of continuous improvement, operational readiness, and change adoption across the business
  • Lead successful hands-on execution of Business Improvement projects leveraging appropriate tools and methodologies
  • Develop, lead, and grow a small team accountable for all aspects of the business improvement function, with continuous improvement principles
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home/office, 9-day fortnight, and part-time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Extensive experience in successfully managing complex business improvement across a range of streams within complex multi-disciplined environments
  • Proven experience in implementing established BI methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, TQM, Kaizen, BeX, Operational Excellence
  • Proven experience in establishing and implementing business improvement frameworks across complex organisations or defence industry projects
  • Tertiary qualifications in a project management or business discipline
  • Proven experience in leading and growing a business improvement function and a high-performing team
  • Strong communicator with ability to relate to people from different disciplines and levels of the organisation
