About the Role

As the Audit Specialist, you will be instrumental in shaping and sustaining a high-performing Assurance function. You will contribute to designing, testing, and enhancing risk analysis and regulatory compliance controls across EnergyAustralia, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals and objectives. This is an exciting opportunity to drive meaningful change and make a tangible impact on our risk management and compliance framework.

  • Develop Annual Assurance Plans: Collaborate with the Assurance Leader to craft annual assurance plans that meet IIA and best practice standards.
  • Implement Assurance Framework: Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of the Assurance Framework across EnergyAustralia, incorporating best practices for robust and effective assurance processes.
  • Deliver High-Quality Results: Execute the annual assurance plan to the expected quality and in a timely manner, adhering to relevant standards.
  • Provide Regulatory Assurance: Offer assurance on the design and operational effectiveness of EnergyAustralia's regulatory compliance controls.
  • Apply Data Analytics: Utilise data analytics or Computer Assisted Audit Tools to perform fieldwork and analyse population, sampling, and results.
  • Influence Stakeholder Engagement: Engage stakeholders across EnergyAustralia to strengthen and uplift regulatory compliance, aligning with our strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develop Exceptional Reports: Craft high-quality reporting to enable better decision-making by the board.
  • Stay Current: Stay updated with industry developments, regulatory updates, and best practices in auditing and assurance, ensuring our work remains aligned with these changes.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Risk: Work closely with the Enterprise Risk team to ensure control information aligns with material risks and control management methodology integrates with Enterprise Risk frameworks and systems.

How can you support the Clean Energy Transition

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in internal audit (preferred) or external audit.
  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, or a relevant degree.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Understanding of the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF), COSO, and ISO31000 guidelines for internal audit and risk management.
  • Experience in data analytics or CAATs programs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in report writing and documentation, clearly communicating findings, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Able to influence and engage diverse stakeholders in business issues.
  • Extensive experience in internal audit, risk assessment, and controls testing.
