The Australian Government seeks a skilled Governance Officer to contribute to the Navy Safety and Environment team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement governance policies, procedures and frameworks to ensure accountability and transparency.
- Provide strategic advice and support to senior committees, including the Navy Safety and Environment Board.
- Assist in developing performance metrics and information.
Working closely with the Regulator Relations area, the Governance Officer will ensure that Defence meets legislative requirements, particularly in relation to work health and safety.
About the RoleThe Governance Officer will be part of the Navy Engineering Division and work across various specialisations, including work health and safety and environment. The team is accountable for developing and sustaining Navy's Safety and Environment Management Systems.
Requirements- Demonstrated policy, governance and secretariat skills and experience.
- Ability to contribute expertise and encourage others to draw upon knowledge.
- Experience managing multiple complex tasks and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, including influencing on complex matters.
