Biodiversity Conservation Researcher

This role is a temporary opportunity that may be extended. The position involves working 35 hours per week.

  • The research focus is on seed germination, plant growth, and environmental factors affecting biodiversity.
  • Collaboration with technical staff and students is essential for designing and delivering impactful research projects.
  • Effective communication of complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences through publications, workshops, and public engagement is crucial.

A key responsibility will be securing funding for research projects that align with the Australian Institute of Botanical Science's goals.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field, such as plant science.
  • Experience in plant conservation research, including seed biology, germplasm curation, and environmental modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills, allowing you to convey complex scientific ideas effectively.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a proactive approach to teamwork.
