We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team at the State Government of Victoria, Australia. As a Payroll Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities- Support the end-to-end fortnightly payroll process, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and full reconciliation.
- Assist in reconciliation tasks and ensure any discrepancies during end-of-month processing are promptly identified and resolved.
- Collaborate with the wider People and Culture team to support onboarding and offboarding, as well as maintaining and updating human resources and payroll records.
- Provide high-quality customer service, handling payroll-related queries and employee entitlements.
- Manage data entry across systems like Chris21, and assist with additional administrative tasks or project work as required.
- Experience in payroll processing, finance, or human resources administration.
- Familiarity with a Human Resources Information System, such as Chris21.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion.
- Strong organisational abilities to manage high volumes of work while meeting strict deadlines.
