We are seeking a skilled Case Manager to join our team at Uniting Limited, working with children and young people in Kinship placements. As a Case Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the well-being and development of these young individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage cases effectively for children and young people aged 0-18 in Kinship placements, providing support and guidance to help them navigate daily challenges.
  • Work closely with kinship carers, birth parents, extended family members, and professionals to ensure a secure and nurturing environment for the child's development.
  • Harness the capacity of extended family networks to ensure the best possible Kinship care arrangements for the children and young people in your care.
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies and frameworks to support the child's growth and development, including child and adolescent development, parent skill development, and crisis planning.
  • Provide support and guidance to kinship carers, birth parents, and extended family members to help them build resilience and self-esteem.

About You

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Case Manager who is passionate about working with vulnerable children and young people. To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Diploma of Community Welfare Work or related discipline.
  • Current driver's license.
  • Experience providing case management within complex family circumstances, where multiple service providers may be involved and/or complex family issues exist.
  • Knowledge and experience of a range of relevant intervention strategies and frameworks, including child and adolescent development, parent skill development, child abuse, alcohol and other drugs, family violence, crisis planning, ecological models, and family systems.
  • Experience supporting young people to grow and develop.
  • Experience in working with traumatised young people.
  • Knowledge of child protection issues in relation to children 'at risk'.
