Learning Support Assistant

Maitland Christian School and Arise Christian College are embarking on an exciting period of growth, driven by a strong reputation in the local community as a school of quality Christian education. With expanding student numbers, organisational capacity and facilities, we are seeking expressions of interest for casual Learning Support Assistants in Primary and Secondary.

Our ideal candidate will possess suitable qualifications and experience as Christian Learning Support Assistants, with a passion for quality Christian education and a heart to see students reach their God-given potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Active participation in promoting the foundational beliefs and doctrines of our school
  • Excellent communication, administration and interpersonal skills
  • Able to relate well to staff, students, parents and the broader community

Additionally, our successful candidate will have:

  • Well-developed knowledge of social, emotional and educational needs of students with disabilities or learning needs such as ADHD, ASD, Specific Learning Disorders and Dyslexia
  • Ability to implement IEPs including knowledge of strategies used to support students one-on-one, in small withdrawal groups, in class support, as well as social support at break times

Requirements

To be considered for this role, please ensure that you meet the following requirements:

  • Commitment to work within a collaborative team environment
  • Special Education Support training or experience as a Learning Assistant or Teacher'sAide in Primary (K-6) or Secondary is desirable
