Job Overview

The Senior Pipeline Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving excellence within the pipeline discipline.

This position requires exceptional expertise in pipeline engineering, with a deep understanding of design techniques and analysis methods, as well as comprehensive knowledge of standards codes and guidelines applicable to the discipline.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to share conceptual and practical expertise related to pipeline engineering.
  • Solve complex problems and apply discipline-specific knowledge to improve products or services.
  • Impact a range of customers, operational, project, or service activities with the pipeline team and other related teams, ensuring work is conducted within appropriate guidelines and policies.
Detailed Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing engineering for onshore and offshore pipeline systems, requiring thorough knowledge of design codes and hands-on experience with software used in the pipeline discipline.
  • Conducting conceptual, FEED, studies, and detailed analyses and designs as per design basis, project specifications, design codes, and standards.
  • Preparing clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses, including design reports and procedures.
  • Clearly communicating and explaining complex issues and working to establish understanding.
  • Familiarizing themselves with the project scope of work, specifications, schedule, and all inter-discipline requirements.
  • Identifying changes to scope and raising change notifications, providing supporting documentation and estimates as necessary.
  • Providing technical direction and review of designers producing products related to pipeline engineering.
  • Assisting in providing necessary design inputs to other disciplines to enable them to proceed with their deliverables.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 8-15 years of experience in Oil and Gas with a major contractor or consultant, predominantly performing detail design.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Master's degree preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of many design techniques and analysis methods, and detailed knowledge of the content and application of standards codes and guidelines applicable to the discipline.
  • Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of professional engineering society as applicable.
  • Seasoned knowledge of engineering standards and specifications.
  • Good knowledge of engineering software.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Good working knowledge of English, both oral and written.
  • HSE, TQM, and cost-conscious.
  • Good organizer, motivator, and supervisor.
  • Keen on improving the effectiveness of the work.
  • Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to: reassignment to other departments/construction sites/fabrication yards, replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays, provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workloads, managing/learning of current working methods and software applications, and reassignment to other offices.
