We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Indigenous Education Support Specialist to join our team. This is a term time, permanent position completing 35 hours per week starting on the 20 January 2025.

The primary purpose of this role is to work in collaboration with teachers to provide advice, practical support and guidance to assist Indigenous students with learning and development.

Job Description:

This role provides quality coordination and administration support to the Emerging Leaders Project, assisting Indigenous students to optimise their learning outcomes in a supported environment with a range of cultural and educational programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and support to teachers on Indigenous student learning needs
  • Coordinate and administer the Emerging Leaders Project
  • Maintain relationships with Indigenous communities
  • Assist with event organisation and travel logistics

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous student learning needs
  • Ability to develop links between the school and Indigenous communities
  • Experience in an operational/administrative support position, preferably within a corporate services function
  • Advanced knowledge of office procedures and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites at an advanced level
