Job Title: Fabrication Specialist

 

Role Summary

This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Fabrication Specialist. You will be responsible for assembling and installing new supports/structural members to existing infrastructure, inspecting and identifying areas in need of repair, or any malfunctions/damage.

You will read and interpret engineering drawings, welding procedures, and project schedules, and carry out fabrication, maintenance, and upgrades as required. Your duties will also include completion of sign-off documentation as needed and preparing/completing fabrications that comply with the client's specifications and drawings.

In addition to your technical skills, you will participate in Toolbox and safety meetings and contribute to activities of continuous improvement. It is essential to adhere to safe work practices at all times.

 

Responsibilities
  1. Assemble and install new supports/structural members to existing infrastructure.
  2. Inspect and identify areas in need of repair, or any malfunctions/damage.
  3. Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding procedures, and project schedules.
  4. Carry out fabrication, maintenance, and upgrades as required.
  5. Complete sign-off documentation as needed.
  6. Prepare/complete fabrications that comply with the client's specifications and drawings.

 

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have experience in the mining industry and hold an Australian trade certificate. Additionally, you must be able to complete various weld procedures and positions, including MMAW and FCAW.

It is highly desirable to have a current MSIC or job-ready MSIC. A police check (or ability to obtain one) and white card are also necessary.

You should possess proactive teamwork skills and high safety standards, with a focus on delivering quality results.
