We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Compliance Specialist to join our team at JJ's Waste & Recycling. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring our business remains compliant with all relevant environmental regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement environmental management systems to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and regulatory approvals.
- Prepare and negotiate environmental approvals and permits to facilitate the establishment of new or expanded facilities.
- Conduct regular site reviews to monitor compliance and build the knowledge and capability of our operational teams.
- Prepare responses to regulatory notices and external audits.
- Investigate and advise on environmental incidents.
- Develop corporate communications on changes in laws, government policy, or processes.
- Qualification in Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or Management.
- Proven experience in implementing and maintaining environmental compliance frameworks and systems.
- Minimum 7+ years' experience in a similar role within the utilities, resource recovery, or waste management sector.
- Proven experience in the practical application of legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
