Network Specialist Opportunity

Downer Professional Services invites you to apply for a Network Specialist role in our Canberra team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to contribute to critical Defence projects that safeguard Australia's future.

This is an exciting chance to join our team of experienced professionals and be part of delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients. As a key member of our Technical stream, you will collaborate with colleagues from various backgrounds to support complex defence and national security projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network design, configuration, and support using technologies such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and next-generation firewalls. Familiarity with Defence networks and ICT frameworks (e.g., DRN, DSN, ISM, DSPF) is also highly valued.

  • You will bring relevant vendor certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, PCNSE) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Your technical skills will also include VMWare suite of products, Citrix VDI, Windows Administrative toolsets, Red Hat Linux, Wintel experience.

We require candidates to hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be necessary.
