Job Title: Education Support Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Education Support Specialist to join our team. This role will provide critical support to teachers, enhancing the educational experience for students.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing routine support to teachers, including planning student routines, communicating with parents, and assisting with administrative tasks.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Assist teachers in planning and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
  • Provide basic physical care and wellbeing support for students, such as toileting, meals, and lifting
  • Communicate effectively with students to support comprehension of basic tasks and information
  • Address immediate behavioral presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting
  • Support teachers in the coordination of educational programs independently or under minimal supervision
  • Assist teachers with the communication of student outcomes and educational programs
  • Provide medical intervention support to students, under specific conditions, with appropriate training and guidance

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Education Support or related field
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly those with complex needs
