Job Opportunity: Fleet Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Fleet Operations Manager to join our team in Australia. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of our fleet, ensuring that all vehicles are well-maintained and operated safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load Planning and Optimization: Plan and coordinate the pickup and delivery of consignments in the most cost-effective and efficient manner possible.
  • Driver Management: Effective load planning and preparation of runs, daily debriefing of drivers, addressing poor performance and non-compliances on the spot.
  • Maintenance and Control: Ancillary equipment ordering/maintenance and control, compilation of loads to ensure efficient use of drivers and equipment.
  • Vehicle Compliance: Ensure all vehicles comply with customer and freight requirements.
  • Loading/Unloading Documentation: Preparation of loading/unloading documentation, including manifests and compliance documentation.
  • Operational Oversight: Supervision of drivers to monitor and enforce general compliance with State and Federal Laws.
  • Customer Communication: Provide feedback to customers as required on the status of pick-up and deliveries.
  • Operational Procedures: Ensure compliance and contribute to the ongoing development of operational procedures and documentation.
  • Employee Safety: At all times, ensure employees and contractors work in accordance with established procedures and practices of the business.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Prepare and manage repairs and maintenance for company equipment.
  • Operational Meetings: Participate in and contribute to operational toolbox meetings and OHS meetings.

  • Ability to visualize things from the eyes of the customer.
  • Lateral thinker with a hands-on attitude.
  • Sound ability to work under pressure and autonomously without direction.
