About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Geospatial Data Analyst to join our team at Laing O'Rourke. As a key member of our Digital team, you will be responsible for providing spatial data management, professional GIS analysis, and creating new spatial content across the construction lifecycle.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in GIS, with experience in ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, and FME applications. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining spatial databases, ensuring GIS practices comply with organizational standards, and creating high-quality maps and visualizations to support design, planning, and construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain spatial databases to store and manage construction-related data.
  • Ensure GIS practices comply with organizational standards, industry regulations, and data privacy requirements.
  • Create and utilize spatial data to assist construction activities, assess risk, and optimize project design.
  • Produce high-quality maps and visualizations to support design, planning, and construction activities.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff and stakeholders on GIS tools, techniques, and best practices.
  • Provide technical support to GIS users, including troubleshooting software issues.
  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to integrate spatial data with other organizational systems and processes.

About You

  • At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in GIS on major design and construction projects.
  • Degree qualified (GIS, IT, Computer Science or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, FME applications, and VertiGIS.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining web and mobile GIS application content.
  • Ability to solve problems through application of analytical and critical thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences.
