Family Counsellor and Therapist

Our Family and Relationships team is seeking a dedicated and compassionate counsellor to provide individual, couple and family therapy sessions.

You will have the opportunity to work with diverse age groups, including children, adults and families, addressing relationship issues, mental health concerns and other challenges.

As a dynamic and empathetic professional, you will maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues and community partners, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

This role also involves working in crisis situations, attending program meetings and engaging in ongoing professional development.

About This Role

This position requires a tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or degree-qualified counselling with relevant membership and experience.

  • Proven expertise in family and relationship counselling, particularly with young people, families, couples and individuals
  • Commitment to a child-centred approach and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building strong stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to respond effectively in critical incidents and complex client situations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as efficient time management
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and simple database systems
  • Understanding of workplace policies, including equal employment opportunity and confidentiality protocols
