About the Role

The caustic room worker will be responsible for placing and removing design dies from the press into their appropriate locations to cool down and then be put back onto shelves or to go into caustic acid baths to remove excess aluminum and then be cleaned using a sandblaster. Cleaned dies are then returned to the die shop to be inspected and corrected to be ready again for production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating pneumatic and hydraulic rams safely
  • Safe operation of overhead cranes
  • Maintaining automatic sandblaster equipment
  • Proper handling, storage and use of caustic acid
  • Completing quality assurance checks for caustic acid baths and tanks
The Roster
  • Rotating day shifts (5am - 5pm) and night shifts (5pm - 5am)
  • A 15% loading applies to afternoon and night shifts worked. Penalty rates apply for shifts over 10 hours.

  • Appropriate level of physical fitness to undertake manual handling/labouring tasks in this environment
