**Job Opportunity in Emergency Care**

**The Role:**

The successful candidate will be an experienced medical practitioner with current emergency medicine experience. They will work within a multidisciplinary team, taking on responsibilities commensurate with their capabilities.

**About the Hospital:**

This is a modern 160 bed hospital providing acute care facilities for residents of the region. It is a University Teaching Hospital for the Rural Clinical School of the University of Tasmania, offering a range of healthcare services including emergency care, sub-acute care, primary healthcare, and mental health services.

**Responsibilities and Duties:**

  • Admission and care of patients
  • Liaison with Specialist Medical Staff regarding patients
  • Attending Specialist ward rounds and recording decisions made in the medical history
  • Timely response to calls from the patient's care team
  • Accurate and timely recording of drugs and treatment
  • Undertaking procedures as required
  • Discharge planning and provision of Discharge Summary compliant with policy
  • After-hours cover and short-term relief in other areas as required
  • Quality Assurance and educational activities

**Essential Requirements:**

  • General or Limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Ability to work a 24/7 shift-work roster, including nights, public holidays, and weekends
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to the general management of a clinical unit in a patient-focused environment
  • Ability to work within personal level of expertise and seek assistance as needed from senior staff
