About the role:
- We are seeking a Peer Support Worker to provide peer support services to consumers with mental illness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver peer support services.
- Develop and implement group and individual activities to support consumers' recovery journeys.
- Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the team.
- Demonstrate a commitment to consumer-led recovery principles and trauma-informed care.
- Promote a culture of respect, openness, and collaboration within the team and with consumers.
Requirements:
- Personal experience as a consumer of Mental Health Services and ability to utilise the lived experience to support others.
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or willingness to obtain.
- Experience working in a Mental Health Peer Worker role with the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate group and individual activities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current local, State, and National legislation and standards relevant to mental health.
