Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Operations Specialist to join our team in Sydney, Australia. As a key member of our security operations team, you will be responsible for managing and reporting operational information security risk as a service provider to customers. This role involves working with internal service and technical teams to manage the outputs of security systems, providing guidance and expertise on operational service calls, incidents, and problems, and promoting general awareness of information security.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and reconcile violation reports and logs generated by detection systems in accordance with established procedures and security standards.
- Install, manage, and improve technical security control tools.
- Undertake security investigations and compile outcome reports, implementing recommendations where required.
- Create and deliver user documentation and security awareness literature and training.
- Contribute to the assessment of the potential impact on existing access security mechanisms of specific planned technical changes, participating in the evaluation, testing, and implementation of such changes.
- Ensure that coordination and change control are applied to technical specifications and the technical infrastructure.
- Lead risk assessments and security control reviews for all types of business applications and computer installations, recommending appropriate action to management.
- Support internal and external customers defining their needs for new access rights and privileges.
- Contribute to other information security, contingency planning, and related activities.
- Demonstrable experience in security operations or development roles.
- Sound knowledge of change and configuration management, reliability, and safety methods, and the use of metrics.
- Extensive knowledge of information security and technologies.
- Significant experience in an IT environment.
- In-depth understanding of IT security control tools, e.g., CrowdStrike, Splunk, Nessus, Wazuh, OSSec, Cisco IPS, McAfee, IBM Guardium, Imperva, Barracuda WAF.
This role offers a competitive salary range of AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including a comprehensive health insurance package, retirement savings plan, and paid annual leave.
