Job Description

This is a key role that will support the Legal Metrology Branch in delivering a major IT enhancement project. The Data Architect will be responsible for designing and implementing data architecture and integration frameworks to enable best practice data lifecycle management and ensure compliance with relevant standards, policies, and regulations.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Data Architect in Australian Public Service settings, preferably within agencies with regulatory compliance responsibilities. They will demonstrate expertise in assessing and optimising data holdings to ensure effective execution of business operational and strategic responsibilities and goals.

As part of this role, you will work collaboratively with other areas in the division, the department, and across government to deliver outcomes and share knowledge. You will also contribute to the development and maintenance of data governance policies, processes, access, and compliance.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Data Architect in Australian Public Service settings
  • Demonstrated expertise in assessing and optimising data holdings
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, including well-developed negotiation and presentation skills for diverse audiences
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships; liaise with a range of stakeholders within and outside of the division
