Located in Western Australia's northern Goldfields, we have an opportunity for an experienced Tailings and Water Operator/Maintainer to join our dedicated team.

Our Murrin Murrin site is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. We are a diverse and driven workforce, building a sustainable business today with a focus on tomorrow.

We operate around the world in over 35 countries, employing over 145,000 people at more than 150 operating mining and processing sites, oil production assets, and agricultural facilities.

The Role

The successful person will become a key member of a hardworking and committed team responsible for the operation and maintenance of water Borefields and Tailings systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining environmental standards in line with Company borefields and tailings licence obligations
  • Planned and unscheduled maintenance of borefields, tailings, diesel pumps, and generators
  • Ensuring maximum capacity and availability for Company water supplies and tailings facilities are maintained
  • Monitoring and regularly recording borefields and tailings pump data to identify maintenance trends
  • Monitoring and maintaining piping systems
  • Understanding and communicating threats to water and tailings systems
  • Contributing to the effective implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System certified to ISO9001

About You

This role would suit someone with a diesel mechanic or fitter background, possessing the following skills and qualifications:

  • Australian Manual MR-Class Driver's Licence (essential)
  • Telehandler Licence
  • HDPE (poly) welding background
  • Good Mechanical aptitude and understanding of diesel engines and pumps
  • Ability to work unsupervised in remote locations
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a Team and foster Team building
