
Child and Family Advocate

This role plays a pivotal part in supporting vulnerable families through effective case management and parenting support.
The successful candidate will advocate for their rights and well-being across emotional, physical, social, educational, developmental, and cultural needs.
The Family Support Specialist will work collaboratively with schools, local agencies, and community stakeholders to identify service gaps and implement family-focused community initiatives.
They will assess the impact of violence on families and young people and support their recovery through tailored, therapeutic interventions.
This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires a degree qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood, Counselling, Welfare, Community Development, or a related field.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working with families affected by family and domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, developmentally appropriate case management to families and young people, particularly those affected by family violence.
- Deliver strengths-based parenting support focused on fostering healthy parent-child relationships.
- Work collaboratively with schools, local agencies, and community stakeholders to identify service gaps and implement family-focused community initiatives.
- Assess the impact of violence on families and young people and support their recovery through tailored, therapeutic interventions.
Requirements:
- Degree qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood, Counselling, Welfare, Community Development, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with families affected by family and domestic violence.
- Experience delivering trauma-informed, culturally responsive support services.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with diverse communities.
