Emergency Department Specialist Role

Work in a fast-paced environment with a dedicated and collegiate team, providing high-quality service to patients. The annual caseload is over 80,000, with diverse patient demographics.

  • Clinical Expertise: Develop your skills in emergency medicine by working with complex cases and contributing to the development of junior medical staff.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including extensive inpatient subspecialty roster support, in-department imaging services, and opportunities for education and CPD activities.
  • Professional Development: Opportunities exist for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as participating in research relevant to the role and needs of the department.

Requirements:

  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and/or equivalent specialist recognition.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements.
  • Proven capacity and/or experience in delivering effective high-quality care in emergency medicine.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the professional development of junior medical staff.
