About the Role

As a DES Employment Consultant with Scope NSW, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with disabilities to overcome barriers to employment. Your primary focus will be on coaching and providing one-on-one support to individuals to help them achieve their employment goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Job Search Support: Run assisted group and individual job search sessions to help clients develop their job search skills and strategies.
  • Business Liaison: Liaise and negotiate with local businesses, employers, and industry organizations to job carve or refer clients to suitable opportunities.
  • Training and Development: Develop individualized training plans and deliver/facilitate individual and group learning activities and training to help clients acquire the skills and knowledge needed for employment.
  • Assessment and Support: Assess work requirements, abilities, and interests to identify suitable employment opportunities for clients.
  • Workplace Support: Assist clients to develop the skills and knowledge needed to work safely and effectively in the workplace.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement and coordinate behaviour management plans to support clients in the workplace.
  • Administrative Support: Ensure efficiency and compliance with administrative processes to support the employment journey of clients.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in recruitment, employment services, or relationship building, with a focus on supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication skills to build strong relationships with clients, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Administrative Skills: Strong administration and report writing skills to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Transportation: Current NSW Driver's License (P2 and above) and a reliable vehicle to travel to various locations.
  • Certifications: First Aid and CPR, Working with Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance.
